Absolutely Brilliant chutneys and pickles
The best Indian restaurant in Southall – an area known as “little India” – is set to launch its own brand of five superior quality hand-made chutneys and pickles in response to customer demand. Brilliant restaurant has already sealed its reputation through its unique low-fat Indian cuisine menu, with reviews in newspapers including The Independent, The Guardian and The Times, as well as a special mention in The Good Food Guide for its superb quality.
Dipna Anand, who runs the restaurant in Western Road, with her father, Gulu, and brother Shanker said diners enjoyed the authentic dips so much that they frequently asked her for samples of the delicious pickles and chutneys to take home after their meal, which is why the restaurant now wanted to make them available to a wider audience. She said: “This is a unique product in response to customer demand. No one makes authentic pickles like us. We are producing them because customers often ask us for samples to take away after their meal, because they enjoy them so much. The fact that we make them all ourselves ensures their special taste and flavour, with all spices freshly ground on the premises.”
Tamarind Chutney, Mint Chutney, Chilli and Carrot Pickle, Lime Pickle and Mango Pickle are now produced in the restaurant’s onsite custom-built production unit. There are absolutely no artificial additives or colouring in these five exclusive products, produced from a secret recipe. Food reviewers always refer to the top quality of Brilliant’s fantastic home-made pickles. The stylish range – presented in elegant jars with black and orange labels in keeping with the restaurant’s colours – is an attractive addition to the dinner table. A press launch is soon being planned for the range, which will be launched in major supermarkets this Autumn.
